Gintama - Plot Summary
In a different version of Japan's Edo period, strong aliens called the Amanto have pushed samurai into hiding. In this troubled time, Gintoki Sakata, a former samurai, now does freelance work to cover his rent. With his loyal but sometimes difficult friends, Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura, he takes on various jobs that often lead to funny and strange adventures.
Gintama is filled with humor and makes fun of other anime and pop culture, but it also shows intense samurai fights, sweet moments of friendship, and touching stories about the characters' pasts. Whether dealing with tricky Amanto plots or helping an elderly woman cross the street, Gintoki and his friends often face the most unexpected challenges.
